T in the Park gets new licence

T in the Park will remain in Kinross-shire until at least 2012 and will be able to sell 5,000 more camping tickets after Perth and Kinross Council granted the festival a new three year licence.
A report by council chief executive Bernadette Malone, considered by councillors, read: "The 2010 event will be broadly similar to past years and feature a wide selection of bands, entertainment and catering venues.
"It is intended to continue to open the campsite from Thursday preceding the event.
"This is one of a raft of measures aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the run-up to the event by extending the arrival period."
Earlybird tickets have already sold out for this year's festival.
